OUR STAFF

HUNG PHAM, Lead Pastor

Pastor Hung is married to the love of his life. They have 2 adorable children. Their family live in North San Jose with 2 cockatiels, 1 guinea pig, 1 bunny, 4 chickens and a gazillion of worms in their compost pile.

When did you first experience the love of God?

It was at a Young Adult Camp in Southern Cal in 1985. The speaker, Nancy Duff from Inter Varsity, led a Bible study on Luke 15. The lesson was simple but it touched me deeply. I felt loved, forgiven, lifted like never before. My life hasn’t been the same since.

What gift do you bring to the Grace Alliance family?

God has given me a heart for young people – they have a deep hunger for God, and they need the right environment to meet Him. I also feel passionate about guiding God’s people through the healing process of the Gospel and building them up to become true, liberated disciples of Jesus Christ.

If you weren’t serving at Grace Alliance, what would you do?

I’d immediately pack up and move to the Pacific Northwest, somewhere near the water, whether the ocean, river or lake, doesn’t matter. It’s my childhood dream to live next to a river. I’d probably pastor a small country church, or run a spiritual retreat center for whoever interested, or just fishing all day :-)

SY QUOC VUONG, Associate Pastor

I mOB MSu Syarried the love of my life (a fellow teacher) in 1969 in Vietnam. We have 4 beautiful children together and we immigrated to the US in November 1994. In 1998, I began my pastoral journey by attending the Alliance Evangelical Divinity School and obtaining my degree in 2002.  Before coming to serve here at Grace Alliance Church, my wife and I served at the Harrisburg Vietnamese Alliance Church for more than 12 years. In those 12 years while we were away from our children, we were blessed with 4 grandchildren and we have one on the way!

When did you first experience the love of God?

Growing up as an orphan, I experienced the love of God fairly early in life. I was 8 when I entered the Evangelical Orphanage in Nha Trang.  After living there for a few years, I was able to learn about God’s love and experience His love through the love that others showed me. I’ve learnt that We love because He first loved us.” 1 John 4: 19

What gift do you bring to the Grace Alliance family?

As a servant of Christ, I want to share what I’ve learned and proclaim the Gospel to those who haven’t had a chance to know Jesus. I’m very excited and happy to be able to lead the Theological Education by Extension (TEE) course to those who are committing to learn God’s Word. I pray that the course will be effective and send out servants in the future. I also want to visit and comfort those in need as well as encourage and lift hearts of the Grace Alliance family.

If you weren’t serving at Grace Alliance, what would you do?

I would spend my time outreaching Evangelism and preaching at churches that may need me. I would also read, play with my grandchildren, and lead them in God’s way. Besides, we’d like to walk every day, so that we can both get some exercise.

THU NGAN HO, Administrative Assistant

I’m the youngest in a family of four, dad, mom, sister and me.  My family came to America four years ago, so I am still adapting to my new homeland. Currently I attend college full time and work part time at Grace Alliance Church.

When did you first experience the love of God?

I have been going to church since I was a child. Throughout my life, I realize that God has always been beside me and done so much good things for me. I thank the Lord for letting me born into a Christian family to learn and experience God from the beginning of my life. One of the most important blessings he has done for me is letting me come to America and be a member of Grace Alliance Church. I have experienced love and peace through the care of church’s members.

What gift do you bring to the Grace Alliance family?

Like Nhi, I don’t think I possess much gifts, but what I have I will offer it all to God. I want to serve and love the church with all my heart.

What do you do in your free time?

I like to cook, eat, sleep, and watch movie when I have free time.
